Group Slaughterhaus Performs In Iowa Farming Communities

"They are sort of a cross between Jim Croce, Megadeath and the Polka-dots," says one fan, "even my grandma loves them." Slaughterhaus is a popular and talented experimental rock group that tours farming communities while calling attention to the need for improved standards in the meat industry.

"We are not against meat, carnivores or farmers," says guitarist Han Burger. "We just want better standards in the meat processing industry to ensure animal cruelty is eliminated," he added. The group donates up to 60 percent of its proceeds to like-minded organizations, and who, really, could argue with that?

The quartet has made many fans since the start of their Midwest tour. Burger also exhibits a healthy sense of humor, despite the passion of his convictions, and that has drawn many additional fans to the cause. "We are also lobbying the Interplanetary Federation to bring an end to alien animal mutilations, so further support is needed to bring an end to many practices, both here, and throughout the universe," he smiled. "But for now, our focus is Iowa," he added with a wink.
