Singer/Songwriter Loses Pick In Guitar During Big Break Performance

"I had an opportunity, I seized it, I gave it 110%, and things just didn't go my way today," said songwriter Justin "Guitar" Case, who is new to performing his music. Case showed a lack of planning while performing the second song in his five song set. He lost his pick inside his acoustic Fender, and though the crowd showed patience, there were long, awkward pauses as Case continuously turned his guitar upside down in an effort to rouse the pick from its captivity. The mics picked up every sound as he shook the instrument.

"It really was a song I needed a pick for," he recalled, "And I didn't have a backup plan. Unfortunately, I was told there were talent scouts at work while I was performing. They could have made my career, but now I guess I will just have to keep plugging away in anticipation of my next big break." Despite the setback, Case finished his performance, perhaps, fittingly, ending with Harry Chapin's "Mr. Tanner." His friends led the audience in a massive, glowing lighter waving assault as he finished.
